# Super Foam Corp > Super Foam makes a patented, PFAS-free microcellular polyurea elastomer (light like foam, tough like rubber) and casts it into custom protective parts for hardware startups: drones, robots, autonomous vehicles, battery packs, sensors and wearables. Based in Riverside, California. ## Key facts - Material: patented microcellular polyurea elastomer; exclusive license from San Diego State University, where it was developed. - Measured performance: 71.7 kJ/m3 energy absorption (internal impact testing); 98% volumetric recovery after a 25 m/s projectile impact; up to 99% shape recovery within milliseconds; 100% PFAS-free. - Customization: the customer sets performance targets (load case, peak force or g limit, temperature, envelope). Super Foam tunes density, additives and additive loading, thickness and geometry to meet them. Additives tested with the base elastomer so far: graphene (UV protection, stiffness, electrostatic dissipation), biocide (resists mold and bacteria) and a fire retardant (increased fire retardancy). - Process: set targets, formulate the material, finite element analysis (FEA) simulation with the design team, an inexpensive way to test behavior in untested conditions, then a sample cast on Super Foam's own patent-pending automated machine by cold-pour overmolding. - Customers own the IP of their formulation-and-shape combination. ## Pages - [Home](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/): overview for hardware teams - [How it works](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/how-it-works): the four-step process - [Use cases](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/use-cases): battery, drone, e-scooter, helmet, sensor and packaging examples with videos - [Technology](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/technology): material data and comparison with traditional foams - [Proof](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/proof): customer stories (Helicoid, Glīd, New Use Energy) - [FAQ](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/faq): common questions - [Start a project](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/contact): start a part spec with your load case and targets - [Preview your part](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/simulate): upload an STL and see it in the material - [About](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/about): team and origins - [Press](https://www.superfoamcorp.com/press): news coverage and PR kit
